Nicolette Blount is a Chickasaw Nation member and multi-hyphenate artist and producer — composer, lyricist, writer, singer, and actress. She is the first Native American Dramatists Guild Foundation National Fellow and was named one of the 2026 Women to Watch on Broadway by the Broadway Women's Fund. As a performer, Nicolette has performed across the US and Hawaii, with her music heard at 54 Below, New York Theatre Workshop, La MaMa, the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Joe's Pub, and the Green Room 42. She has been featured in Playbill, Native Max Magazine, the Chickasaw Times, and BroadwayWorld, and has appeared on Mass Appeal (22 News) and numerous theatre podcasts including Musical Theatre Radio and Breaking the Curtain.
As a writer, Nicolette is the composer, lyricist, and co-writer of Savage: The Unconquerable Wanda Savage, based on her Chickasaw great-grandmother, a 1920s vaudeville and silent film star, which has received numerous national accolades and recognition since development began in 2017. Most recently she completed a residency for Off With Your Head at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Ireland. She is also currently developing Riot Grrrl: The Anti-Punk Musical, Bad Girls of the Bible, and Off With Your Head, and is writing Unconquerable, a hybrid memoir about her great-grandmother Wanda Savage. She is a contributing writer for Breaking the Grrrl, an online zine. Nicolette's producing journey began when she founded Grace 4 U, a nonprofit in Hawaii through which she organized and produced F.A.I.T.H. Fest, an annual festival celebrating local visual and performing artists. That early experience of building community around art has shaped everything she has done since. As an artist herself, Nicolette brings a unique perspective to producing — she understands firsthand the challenges creators face and is deeply committed to championing the work of fellow artists. Nicolette is a sought-after speaker on Native representation in theatre, with appearances at the Harvard Club NYC, Theatre Resources Unlimited's Native Artists Town Hall, and the Longmont Museum in Colorado. She raises awareness about the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) crisis through her public speaking and artistic work, and donates 100% of streaming revenue from Savage music to the Oklahoma Alliance Against Violence.
Nicolette is the founder of nativetheatreartists.com, a free industry directory dedicated to increasing visibility for American Indigenous and First Nations theatre creatives on and Off-Broadway.
Nicolette is a member of the Dramatists Guild, ASCAP, Maestra, Society of Composers and Lyricists, Songwriters Guild of America, RISE, MUSE, and TRU.
